Don't be down on yourself! You either gotta: A. don't compare your cosplay to others. Each person has a different amount of time, money, and energy to invest into cosplay. I tend to have a lot of all three, so my skill level increases rapidly. It's unfair to compare someone like *KellyJane to most other Axel's. Cosplay is about having fun and bringing the character to life, not how accurate you look. or B. Practice. No cosplayer is good at first. Many are bad the second time around, too. I mean, this is my SECOND try at Luxord. I've had to redo Xigbar from scratch, I tried remaking Sister Sweden, and Vexen 2.0 is on the way. My first few cosplays (Near, Raven, Haseo) all royally stunk. So I put a lot of effort into getting better; styling my own wigs as well as styling others', doing my own make up for characters when bored, doing photo shoots alone with a tripod in order to get ideas for angles, posing, lighting, etc, etc. If you want to improve, you gotta work at it. but you also gotta have fun with it; otherwise, cosplay would be Work!
